24 Sept'07 - 27 Sept'07: KL, Cameron Highlands, Senyum Caves, Forest in Gombak and Gunung Belumut...

Mid sem break is over... tata... sads.. haha.. and i did not spend it doing my assignments.. (piling up).. nor did i spend it mugging away for the animal development test.. haha.. bOo.. yea.. i spent 4 days of it.. (including 16 hours of my birthday) in Malaysia!!! hahaha..

welcome to KL! 3 bored gals (xue yuan, me, peixin) waiting for Laura and Eunice who went to get the permit for collecting the spiders..

a froggie from Cameron Highlands... we were collecting spiders along Robinson's Falls from 1030pm to 1230am.. cool rite.. haha...

yay!.. and we celebrated Mid Autumn on Tuesday as well!! when was the last time u played with lanterns!! haha.. yeps.. as usual.. the poor guys were forced to hold PINK lanterns.. hahaha... here's junhao and stanley..

me, laura, stanley, xue yuan, junhao, peixin and eunice... the colours of the lanterns were positioned in symmetrical way.. Taj Mahal style! *beams*

haha... cool effects from xue yuan's camera... prolonged exposure.. and the four of turn spinning our lanterns in figures of right.. nice rite? mine is the one on the right... i think it's the most symmetrical figure of eight... =)

Senyum caves... early in the morning.. for collecting Scytodes cavernarum... we found some Portia in there also.. haha

in KL.. malaysia is filled with mosques i tell you.. huge ones.. pretty ones.. all sorts of them!

and they have fillet foldover! not nice ones...

the hotel we stayed in on the night of 26 sept... super sleazy looking.. coz all the proper looking hotels were fully booked.. we wonder why... bleahs..

the door of our room.. can peep in through the keyhole one lohs! and we were smart enough to put a duct tape over the hole.. wahahha.. =)

Falling asleep...

falling asleep doing SEM work in the basement of S2.. yawns.. lousy internet connection.. boring work.. SEM works very very slowly..

it takes like abt 1 min to take one picture...

and i'm taking pictures of spiders' legs..

1 leg = about 70 shots...

spiders have 8 legs.. so total = 70 X 8 = 560 shots..

1 shot = 1 min...

560 shots = 560 mins = ~9 hours...


wow.. 9 hours of taking SEM photos.. staring at the irritating small green flickering screen...

my eyes are gonna go real bad real soon...

wait.. it's not just ~9 hours!! there's more!!...

1 spider = ~9 hours..

i have about 12 spiders to do...

12 spiders = 9 x 12 = 98 hours...

98 hours = ~4 days..


woah.. sound so simple hor..


spend 4 WHOLE DAYS staring at the SEM.. then count the hairs and measure area of slit sensilla.. then HALF of my FYP is done le...
